THE TEACHERS

Sarah Pfitzner

Sarah ProfileMovement, sport and exercise are in Sarah’s DNA. From dancing to playing netball at state level she has always been passionate about the power our bodies hold. However it was through a severe life-changing illness that Sarah discovered and fell in love with Pilates. She experienced firsthand just how powerful and transformative Pilates can be and wanted to share this gift with others. Her training with Body Control Pilates began in 2008 and she continues to expand her knowledge with further training each year. Her studies in Pilates, health, nutrition, NLP, psychology and mindfulness all play an integral role in her goal to empower others to be the best version of themselves possible. Sarah is the co-owner of I Love Pilates Ltd.

“Pilates is not just about ‘the core’. It’s also about realignment, finding strength, balance and beauty from the inside out, encouraging functional movement and using the mind and breath to become the master of your own body. Pilates is ‘mindfulness in motion’.”

Dalia Schestatzky

Dalia has been a sports and movement enthusiast since her childhood, especially loving horse riding, tennis and dance. She discovered Pilates 10 years ago, accompanying an enthusiastic friend and simply fell in love. After finishing her BA in Psychology, she completed her Pilates mat teaching certificate with Physical Mind Institute (NY), and her equipment certificate with Reut Greitzer (Pilates foundation). She has a wide variety of teaching experience having worked in Pilates studios, gyms, remedial departments in hospitals, in both private settings and in small group classes. Dalia loves learning and  attending Pilates conferences and fitness workshops keeps her at the top of her game and in touch with the latest advancements in the field. Dalia is the co-owner of I Love Pilates Ltd and works hard keeping things running.

Pilates connected me to motion and to the body in a way no physical exercise has done before. Each and every Pilates session teaches me something new. For me, practicing Pilates is the ultimate way to achievea sense of vitality of body and mind, concentration and control.”

THE FOOD

Great nutrition is crucial to our wellbeing, and will form an essential part of our retreat. A gloriously delicious and substantial brunch buffet and dinner are included in the price, and there will also be fruit available for the mornings plus healthy snacks and smoothies available to purchase in the afternoons. All meals will be vegetarian and home grown or local wherever possible. The venue’s organic permaculture orchard and kitchen garden have been created to enrich the cuisine provided. Alcohol will be available to purchase with your evening meal for those who wish to enjoy the fruits of France!

Gluten free or raw food diets can be provided for an extra €40, upon request. Please enquire if this is relevant to you.

EXTRA ACTIVITIES

This retreat is yours to do with as you wish and there will be plenty of free time to do just that! Think of it as a holiday with optional extra Pilates and mindfulness practice thrown in! Also included in the price is a visit to the local market of Lectoure, an elegant Gallo-Roman town, high on a chalk ridge and the centre for arts in the region.

The local landscape is perfect for leisurely walks through nearby forest, more adventurous hikes or even jogging, for those so inclined. With the nearest village, Le Sauvetat, about a 40 minute walk away from our venue, this retreat is the perfect opportunity to simply switch off, to laze on a longer by the pool or to snooze on a bed under the tress, to take a dip, read, have a sauna or enjoy a massage or Ayurvedic treatment to two. For those more energetic, you may wish to take advantage of the bicycles available at our venue, perhaps cycling the 7 km to the stunning swimming lake nearby, however for anyone with a desire to explore the region in more depth, we recommend that you hire a car at Toulouse airport. Please let us know if you are doing so as we may be able to give some advise with this. But above all, please know that it’s your time and your retreat!
